2016 Battle of the Bass Tournament Locations

The pre-tournament dinner and registration on Thursday, April 28, 2016, will be located at The Center for Rural Development at 6pm.

Tournament Rules

It is the Responsibility of the participant to read and understand all rules prior to tournament start!

State Fishing license required.
No one under 16 years of age unless accompanied by parent or guardian.
U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket must be worn anytime outboard engine is running.
A working aerated live well is required, no stringer or baskets allowed.
Artificial lures only! Use only 1 rod at a time, no trolling. Casting only. No live or prepared bait.
Only Largemouth(15”), Smallmouth(18”), and KY Spotted Bass(12”) are allowed. MeanMouth Bass will be considered as Smallmouth. Minimum length will follow state regulations for that lake. Fish will be measured on Golden Rule!
Maximum number of bass will be 5 per team. Any team attempting to weigh in a short fish will be deducted 1 lb.0 oz per fish unless a request for length check is made prior to weigh in.
Competitors who are not at the official check in site by designated quitting time will be penalized 1 lb.0 oz/minute up to 15 minutes then will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Any Fish that appears to have mutilated in any way will be weighed at discretion of the tournament officials at the weigh in and their decision is final.
Penalty of 8 oz. will be deducted for each dead fish weighed in. Tournament officials at weigh-in site will determine live fish and their decision is final.
In case of a tie, the following tiebreakers will be used in order: (#1) The individual with the largest number of legal fish weighed in during the competition. (#2) The individual with the largest number of legal LIVE fish weighed in during the competition. (#3) The individual with the heaviest single day’s catch during the competition. (#4) The individual with the second heaviest single day’s catch during the competition. In the unlikely event that they remain tied after these four tiebreakers are employed, then a flip of a coin will be used to determine the winner(s) and the money, if any, will be equally split. Ties for lesser positions shall be resolved by means selected by the Tournament Director.
All fish will become property of Battle of the Bass, which will be returned back to tournament waters, with the exception of 1 trophy fish per tournament.
Any complaints or questions must be brought in writing and signed to the attention of the tournament officials either prior to the start of the tournament or the closing of the weigh-in. Complaints will not be accepted after that time and decision of the tournament officials WILL BE FINAL!
Anyone participating in the Battle of the Bass tournament will be subject to a polygraph exam and or voice stress analysis if requested by the tournament officials. Examiner’s decision must be accepted without appeal. Entrants understand that the failure of such test or refusal to take the test will disqualify them from the tournament.
Due to the stress and mortality of the fish, those that are weighed in at the Battle of the Bass MAY NOT BE USED IN ANY ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT unless other tournament will use a Battle of the Bass weigh slip.
There will be no culling of fish inside the buoys at the weigh-in site.
Absolutely no hole-setting or holding of a fishing spot by an alternate boater. THIS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED!
Boat owner must have a minimum of 300,000.00 liability insurance.
All boaters must obey State boating laws.
No alcoholic beverages allowed in boat or around immediate weigh-in area or at Registration.
A contestant must stay in boat at all times. If a contestant leaves the boat for any reason, no fishing equipment will be allowed in his/her possession.
No more than a 5 fish limit in your possession at any given time.
If a contestant fishes by his/herself during the Battle of the Bass, the director reserves the right to place an observer in the boat with them that day.
Cancellation policy: Contestants have up until 7 days prior to Tournament (April 28, 2016), to receive a refund for their entry fee. Only legitimate excuses will be taken at the discretion of the tournament officials and Battle of the Bass event director.
Dire Emergency/Breakdown: In the case of a dire emergency or breakdown competitors or observers may separate from one another while either returns to the weigh-in site with all legally caught fish in another competitors boat. In this situation the fish must be clearly separated and verified during transfer and at the weigh-in site by the observer/non-boater of the rescue boat. Must get approval from the Tournament director.
INFRENGEMENT OF THESE RULES SHALL BE CONSIDERED CAUSE FOR DISQUALIFICATION, INTERPRETATION OF THESE RULES SHALL BE LEFT EXCLUSIVELY TO TOURNMENT OFFICIALS.
