Important notice for Somerset residents and business owners
If you have an alarm system on your home or business and it activates when you are not present, Somerset Police Department is often called to respond. At times, officers are unable to communicate with the property owner because contact information is not up-to-date with the alarm service provider.
If this happens on your property, you will begin seeing door hangers on your door from SPD letting you know officers responded and were unable to reach you. The door hanger will include the date and time of SPD’s arrival on the back of the card.
Please take the following steps if a door hanger appears at your home or place of business:
